Mark Kleinschmidt

Mark writes Young Adult Crossover novels, characters and worlds shaped by his passion for adventure, history and justice, uplifting tales with satisfying endings.
Raised in the remote Australian bush, Mark's imagination flourished on a diet of real and imagined adventures. It was the days before satellite TV, and he sated his appetite for entertainment and knowledge by gorging on the family's vast library of all genres—fact and fable—and from them flow his stories of today.
After working the land for over 20 years, he spent five years in the museum industry and a further two decades in environmental sustainability. All the while, he wrote.
For seven years he was the editor and chief writer of the popular ezine, The Basin Bullet.
Mark is also an award-winning bush poet, having written the best-selling anthology, Westering. From 1996, he spent 11 years delivering a highly acclaimed one-hour, one-man show on outback heritage - over 800 shows in all. As the 1997 Australian Male Champion Bush Poet, he performed at the 13th annual Cowboy Poets Gathering in Elko, Nevada, as well as schools in Nevada and California.
He is currently working on The Gold Rune which joins The Blood Rune, The Fire Rune and The Lost Rune in The Ronan Ryan Odyssey series.
His idea of the perfect day is researching and writing, running, playing tennis, and tinkering in his workshop. Mark lives in southeast Queensland, Australia, with his wife, Delia.
